# Manage edge software uniformly: logiccloud becomes Margo-compliant

Docker, Podman or Snap — every vendor differs. logiccloud becomes Margo-compliant, following the open standard set by ABB, Siemens, Microsoft and Rockwell Automation.

Digitalization in industrial automation requires flexible, reliable and hardware-independent software solutions. However, when it comes to edge controllers in particular, many users face a problem: different hardware manufacturers rely on different deployment technologies such as Docker, Podman or Snap. This complicates the selection, installation and management of software – and slows down innovation processes.

To solve these challenges, leading technology companies have joined forces to form the Margo Initiative: **ABB**, **Siemens**, **Microsoft**, **Schneider Electric**, **Capgemini** and **Rockwell Automation**. Their common goal: to establish an open, manufacturer-independent standard for managing software on edge devices. Margo defines this:

✅ Standard specification for devices, applications and software management (orchestration)

✅ Reference implementation for simple integration

✅ Compliance test kit for automation specialists and software providers

## logiccloud optimally prepared

logiccloud is also aware of the problem and has therefore relied on Docker and Kubernetes for standardized and simple container management for different hardware right from the start. This makes the step towards **Margo compliance,** which is also based on these container technologies, a logical next milestone. The specifications are currently being finalized. logiccloud expects to be one of the first software providers to be Margo-compliant **as early as the first quarter of 2026** – and thus to support an even wider range of edge hardware platforms.
